There's a lot of unhappy people out there.  Personally, I'd never use them
until they are better regulated; they are just too poorly managed.  I know
it's a pain, but the best way to protect yourself is still the
old-fashioned way -- send stuff COD, and only accept Postal Money Orders
for payment.

Could you provide some of the other options you evaluated and the
reasons for choosing paypal?  It would be valuable info.
