Hi. I've been lurking about the list for a while now, and thought I'd
introduce myself.
I've been using Linux for about a year now, and have installed it on about a
dozen-odd machines. Started with Red Hat, I'm now using Mandrake 7.1 with
KDE (not KDE2). I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as you guys appear, so
hopefully I'll pick up something along the way.
Ancient history includes VAX, AS400, IBM 360, C64, C128, Mac, Amiga, HP,
SBC's, etc.
Currently with Honeywell Aerospace.
Carry on... ;-)

P.S. Everyone here prolly knows this, but speaking of my favorite search
engine, Google, http://www.google.com/linux is the Linux-specific engine on
Google...

Ooh, I just answered my own question. (As an aside, I have found that
Google.com is a great search engine for a lot of obscure websites.) Go to
http://www.linux-ide.org/ultra100.html to get more info about this subject.
This came up when my supervisor was thinking about getting an Abit MB with
Ultra ATA/100 RAID controller for a Linux box, but wasn't sure if the
ATA/100 was supported. Right now, the RAID function is not supported for
the chipset on that MB, BUT ATA/100 is.

Subject: Ultra ATA/100 Support
Does anyone know if there is any support (new kernel/old kernel/hack) for
Ultra ATA/100 hard drives under Linux?
Thanks,
