What is a kernel?

When I have a problem I have to figure out I got to the internet or to a
mailing list nowadays. Isn't this guy just doing the same thing, using the
resources available to get an answer to his question? Let's face it, while
there are a lot of resources and books on linux, they are not always written
for someone who does not have a Ph.D., or they are written poorly by someone
who has a Ph.D., but it is in CS and they can't write.
I think this kid has a future, since he is actually learning something
useful - i.e. using the avialalbe resources to get an anser in school,
before he does it everyday in real life. Seems like good training to me.

Personally,
I think we should be patting DeVry on the back. After all they are now
teaching Linux apparently. This could be a good thing. Even if the students
may not be totally prepared to use Linux in a production setting when they
graduate, they would have at least a usable knowledge of Linux. The more
people get to know Linux, the more they'll use it.
my two cents,
Brian
PS. Too bad about that slacker, wanting us to do his homework. Maybe we
could
generate some funds for Linux by offering a "DeVry Homework Helpers Corner"
on the internet. They pay us a fee, we give them access to our knowledge
base. ;')>
