Subject: Trouble getting sysinstall to read floppy drive
Date: Wed, 17 Mar 1993 04:08:44 GMT

Hi,
Sorry for the newbie question, but I gotta problem.
I have installed the TAMU package and would like to add the TeX
package to it. I'd like to use the sysinstall script, but everytime I
enter "sysinstall -series t" i get a response: insert disk t1 into
floppy...."
Well, I do it, the hard drive chuggs and the same message comes up
without the floppy drive light every coming on.... I've managed to do
a manual installation by copying the files over and gunzipping and
untarring them, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong. I tried
setting instdev to /dev/fd0, but no luck (the script seems to do that
anyway). Hints? I don't see anything in the faq, but sorry if I
missed it....
Thanks,
Steve ssinglet@du.edu
