filtering syslogd kernel msg

what can be added to syslog.conf to filter out just the following and not all kernel msg? Oct 5 01:50:39 localhost kernel: usb-storage: queuecommand called it is showing in the debian syslog, debug and kern logfiles on sarge thanks

try this: ~/Maildir/ or refer to my exim howto at www.amason.net It also has more info on other pieces. You should be able to take any piece and use it. The spamassasin info is wrong and doesn't work, so don't use that. Note that the trailing slash is very important and exim won't work without it. although I'm not sure the ~ will work either. So let me know if it does. I use an absolute path in mine. Hey everyone: For some reason, understanding how to run a for-fun email server is beyond me. So, I'm trying to get this configured one step at a time. I find some tutorials online that say..."Yeah, just setup exim, fetchmail, squirrelmail, courier-imap, and spamassassin and you're almost there!" That sounds like a lot to me. So...I'm starting small. First things first, I want to get exim working with courier-imap. Here is my setup, then I will show the errors I'm getting: Debain Testing exim courier-imap Timewarner cable mdg.homelinux.org pointing from dyndns.org to my server. Here is a snip of my exim conf. (the parts that seem relevant) ===== host_accept_relay = 127.0.0.1 : ::::1 host_auth_accept_relay = * local_delivery: driver = appendfile group = mail mode = 0660 mode_fail_narrower = false envelope_to_add = true return_path_add = true #file = /var/mail/${local_part} directory=${home}/Maildir maildir_format = true prefix="" =================== My /etc/login.defs file has: QMAIL_DIR Maildir/ #MAIL_DIR MAIL_FILE Maildir/ ================== And my /etc/pam.d file has: session optional pam_mail.so standard noenv dir=~/Maildir =================== In my home dir, I have a .forward with: ~/Maildir I also have a folder called Maildir with mdg:mail ownership. ==================== Now, when I log into mutt, and send a test mail somewhere, it works just fine. Hi folks- Long story snipped but can anyone d/l the open distribution Xandros ? Seems that for various reasons Torrent is not a viable tool on Starband . I will toss a few bucks to whoever can bring a cd of this to Wed's meet . Reason for wanting it Wed's meet is on Thurs I may be meeting the folks needing it badly . Ice is better looking. Ice comes on Knoppix, Debian, Libranet, and many others. You can load it fairly easily on most distros. It can be themed, since everyone seems to love themes. It comes w/ a "start" button in the lower left corner that works similarly to Windows. You will likely have 64MB or less ram and a 1-4MB video card in the old machine. Icewm works fine in this situation. Even lighter is fluxbox, but no "start" button. The average user would be scared off. The menu is just a right click away, but it's not worth your trouble. If there is a distro you need burned then let someone know today as soon as possible. I got the Xandros you requested, but haven't burned yet. Later,

This doesn't answer your question regarding a specific distro, but whatever distro you use, carefully audit all services that run at start. With a machine that is not connected to a network, many of your network services can be disabled. Also look at running a light desktop manager like ICEWM. If there is any budget at all for adding RAM and or a newer HD, it may be well worth your time to do so. A P2/200 will be sufficient for the duties you suggest, but a faster HD and more RAM will make things much speedier. Good luck with it. This center is a not-for-profit so Surplus Exchange is a viable hardware source . Here's where KCLUG can come in . Showing that Open Source is truly viable for this person's need . What is needed ? Single user single desktop maybe not even networked or if so only at the printer share level Compatibility with Msword and Excel in both directions , Printing flyers . Archiving all flyers etc . RE: apache questions to follow

make sure there is a line that looks something like this: ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/cgiirc/ This tells apache where to find script directories. (I think that is the correct syntax) Also you'll need a section like this: <Directory /usr/lib/cgi-bin/cgiirc/> AllowOverride None Options ExecCGI Order deny,allow Allow from all </Directory> Make sure to remember the final / on the directory names. I've never used more than one directory for scripts, so I don't know if making the above changes will redirect all cgi requests to the new .../cgiirc directory or not. But unless you tell apache there are scripts there and make the directory ExecCGI, they won't execute. You may need to qualify the path for the scripts so that the cgi requests go to /cgiirc/irc.cgi, if the ScriptAlias is like mine and points to /usr/lib/cgi-bin.
