strange bind behavior

I'm running bind 9.2.4-2 on a CentOS 4.0 server. The last week or so I've noticed some oddities in the logs. Here are some examples Oct 30 04:32:52 ns1 named[16917]: dispatch 0xb56f3f70: shutting down due to TCP receive error: connection reset Oct 30 04:32:52 ns1 named[16917]: dispatch 0xb5b3ef18: shutting down due to TCP receive error: connection reset Oct 30 04:32:52 ns1 named[16917]: dispatch 0xb5b3ef18: shutting down due to TCP receive error: connection reset Oct 30 04:32:52 ns1 named[16917]: dispatch 0xb56f3f70: shutting down due to TCP receive error: connection reset The frequency of this fluctuates considerably, between 2 and 200 times a day. I'm concerned that someone may be utilizing an exploit that hasn't been released/announced to the public. Can anyone help explain what I'm seeing here? I've dug through the dispatch source, but I don't speak c/c++ so its greek to me. Matt -- Got gmail? I do hahaha

Here's the report I received about the users computer and LiveCD version. The CD is the Ubuntu v. 5.10 LinuX LiveCD. The HW configuration is an IBM clone, Intel P4 2.6 GHz hyperthreading processor (hyperthreading enabled in BIOS) on an Intel motherboard, 1GB 133 Mhz DDR RAM, with an Nvidia video card, 1 standard CDROM drive, 1 DVD+RW drive (Linux CD was used in standard CDROM drive) and 2 HD's: One 20 GB with 1 partition + one 100 GB with 2 partitions; SW configuration is Win XP SP-2. Live CD at iTech

Hi, A person I gave a Live CD to at iTech is having trouble booting with it. He sent me the following message(see below). Michael The Linux Live CD locked up on my XP PC on bootup at the following line: Starting Enterprise Volume Mangement System. Please let me know if you have any insights/ideas about this, or need more info first. http://www.handuma.com

Looks like he may have a RAID volume he is booting to. I could be wrong. He may need a specific kernel module that is not on the live cd, such as for a scsi controller, ATA100 PCI card controller or something similar. Could also be that he has SATA and that is not enabled on the specific live cd that he has. ITEC Live CD update

Since we last discussed this, Ubuntu 5.10 has been released. I downloaded it tonight and I've just discovered that there's a HUGELY important feature on their Live CD that I think we should consider: the "Live CD" not only includes the standard "live" Linux environment but also a pretty Windows autorun "welcome screen" with *installers* for OpenOffice, Mozilla Firefox and GAIM for Windows! IMHO, this is wonderful! We can hand out a _single_ CD that promotes using open source software on either Windows or Linux at the same time! Download it and try it out! It's so pretty too. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ Anyways, this is hands-down the best "newbie" CD I've ever found.
