I thought there was something about the right to make other systems interoperable that would not cause an infringement? Like putting Appletalk protocol in Linux. If the original company doesn't create a tool to allow you to tranfer information in/out using your existing systems, then of course you want to make your own. But what do I know, I'm barely awake. With all the gruff about patent infringement going on, I thought I would investigate th i am most likely to have violated so I took a look at the licensing page for it, and I discovered a wonderful blurb "However, no license is needed for private, non-commercial activities (e.g., home-entertainment, receiving broadcasts and creating a personal music library), not generating revenue or other consideration of any kind or for entities with associated annual gross revenue less than US$ 100 000.00." *//**/http://mp3licensing.com/help/index.html I checked out the site for DVD but it wasn't expressively clear, so i asked them in an email, I'll share the response when it gets back. Anybody else know of any possible patents that could have been violated by the open source project as Microsoft has claimed? /*

Troubleshooting my system I have a radio all-in-one 9600 with two monsters, a westing house LCD, as primary screen and a viewsonic A70 as the extension.. It seems to work just about right with the exception the when the muse goes from screen the LCD screen tot e CRT it turns into a purple block. I have also noticed that when I watching A DVD and I try to put it on the CRT side it fails to render the video. Well I have tried everything that has been tossed at me, I notice if i change resolutions to the smallest possible it works. Here a funny little lesson, Don't try to set up your duel monsters to so that you can go from the left of the primary to the secondary, and then try get the secondary to be on the left. ProComm, Pony,

Can anybody clue me into the Linux versions or equivalents to Procomm or Pony Prog, or a similar program with script writing and auto execution, I would like to be able to write to a flash chip and be able to pull data of the flash chip. I currently use win 98 and 2000 for the dos modes.

Procom PT2

Looked at the possible solutions, I have hound the same, I looking for something that can upload/download via rs232 and rs449, This a Event-Data Recorder EDR that stores it memory on a flashchip. I connect through the com ports to my DER throuh what ever translator circuit required. I can use Procom to see it scroll, Poby Prog to program the chip, I have a assoarted collection of bootloaders, but everything is microsoft. I want to be able to get away from it all, but the google warrior in me is unable to find anything.
